Assault

March 22 - Samuel Benesby, 21, of the 1700 block of Cold Springs Road in Newton Square, was arrested on the 200 block of S. 40th Street by Penn Police for allegedly assaulting a Penn Police officer at about 2:10 a.m.

Auto theft

March 27 - A male student, 27, reported that his dirt bike, secured with a cable lock, was removed by an unknown suspect at about 9:30 a.m. from the International House, located at 3701 Chestnut St.

Burglary

March 23 - Two computers were reported to have been taken from secured rooms in Williams Hall, located at 255 S. 36th St., at about 12:40 p.m.

March 24 - Two computers, valued at about $2,800, were reported to have had been taken from a secured room from the New Chemistry Building, located at 231 S. 34th St., at about 11:30.

March 25 - Marcellus Simpson, 71, resident of 1700 block of Alter Street, was arrested by Penn Police for allegedly attempting to break into a shop at the University City Sheraton, located at 36th and Chestnut streets, at about 1:50 a.m.

Theft

March 21 - A girl, 13, unaffiliated with the University reported that three offenders took her cell phone on the 4000 block of Spruce Street at about 11:18 p.m. Penn Police arrested three males, ages 17, 14 and 16, in connection with the incident.

March 22 - Tane Thompson, 33, of the 1800 block of S. Yewdall Street, was arrested by Penn Police at about 2:45 p.m. after allegedly leaving Ann Taylor with about $175 worth of merchandise without payment.
